I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was chosen for our July staff book discussion group, and I was delighted that it was such an easy, fast read. Quirky, endearing characters and dysfunctional families dealing with some tough issues in a small Nebraska town comprise the basic plot of the book. The author deftly uses sarcasm, some down-home religion gone bad, and a main character who composes hilarious country western songs about his crazy life to weave a charming story of heartache intermingled with joy. A great summer read!
